Lenten Rite in Pampanga during Holy Week

This is the actual venue of the re-enactment of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in a man-made Calvary situated in Brgy. San Pedro Cutud, San Fernando, Pampanga during Holy Week. Thousands of spectators both local and foreign gather here to witness this annual event every Good Friday.

This is how most of the devotees start their ritual wherein they use a piece of wood with pieces of crystals on it to mark the wounds at the back and allow the blood to flow out until the end of the ritual. Devotees often walk barefooted to visit different Senakulo within the place to repent for their sins and ask for God's forgiveness too.

This was the actual crucifixion around 3pm in the afternoon on Good Friday. "Mang Ben", the man who played the role of Jesus Christ was on his 25th year of devotion this year. According to him, he is trying to evaluate some of the possible candidates to replace him maybe the next few years.
